Although Behind the Brands just launched Tuesday, the new report analyzing seven factors in the production of goods from the world's 10 largest food companies has grabbed a lot of media attention. Articles about Behind the Brands have appeared in the following outlets:
- National Public Radio's "The Salt"
- British Broadcasting Company's website
- The Huffington Post website
- Marketing Week website
- Chicago Tribune website
- Battle Creek Enquirer website
- New York Times blog
- Business Mirror website
Reporters were not the only ones creating a buzz around Oxfam's Behind the Brands. All day Tuesday, Oxfam staff, volunteers and supporters in more than a dozen countries engaged in social media food justice by tweeting and blogging #BehindtheBrands.
You can join the team of Behind the Brands supporters by visiting Oxfam's website and writing letters to your local media outlets and posting messages to Twitter, Facebook, Google+ and other social media sites. The idea is to make as many people aware of the supply chain of so many of the cookies, drinks, chips, ice creams and other products they consume.
