Brainstorming session: Everyone is welcome!
Dear Oxfam America supporter:
As the Columbus Action Corps prepares for two exciting activities in March, we are inviting you to our first meeting of 2013.
Action Corps Co-leader Jessica Burchard and Oxfam Regional Advocate Leader Adam Olson, who is based in Michigan, will layout the current framework for March and accept new ideas from 2 p.m., Friday, Jan. 25 at the Barnes and Noble bookstore,1739 Olentangy River Road.
The meeting's focus will be on the interactive panel discussion "Sweet Justice: Understanding Chocolate Production" that is scheduled from 5:30-7 p.m., Thursday, March 21 at the Columbus Metropolitan Library's main branch, 96 S. Grant Ave., Columbus. A copy of Jessica's basic outline will be available to all attendees to read and discuss.
After going through plans for "Sweet Justice," the meeting will focus on the super-secret activity Oxfam is planning worldwide for International Women's Day on Friday, March 8. The action is designed to increase awareness and work to improve how the world's 10 largest food manufacturers use natural resources and treat their employees.
More details about this worldwide event will be released in February, but we are eager to begin an open dialogue about it. Anyone who will be in Columbus on Friday, March 8 is urged to contact the Columbus Action Corps at columbus@oxfamactioncorps.org to learn more about participating.
Thank you for taking time to read this invitation. We, the leadership of the Columbus Action Corps, are truly enthused about our upcoming events and extend an offer to you to be as involved as you like.
Again, please feel free to contact us at columbus@oxfamactioncorps.org for questions or comments.
Looking forward to seeing you,
Jessica J. Burchard
Oxfam Columbus Action Corps Co-Leader 2012-13
